This is a short, honest guide to what there actually is to do around VELA Tianyar, for guests who want to explore and for those who would rather not.
On the water
The coast here is calm and easy to enter. You can snorkel straight off the black sand, dive the Tulamben and Amed sites a short drive away, or go out with the fishermen at first light. The water is clear and the mornings are still.

Inland and along the coast
Behind the coast the land rises quickly toward Mount Agung. There are quiet northern waterfalls to find, black-sand salt farms where salt is still raked and dried by hand, and long stretches of coast road with almost no traffic. It is the kind of place you explore slowly, on your own time.

Or nothing at all
The north rewards a slower stay. Many guests come for the diving and end up spending as much time doing very little: coffee at dawn, a swim, a long lunch at Saga, the stars at night with no light pollution. There is no minimum programme here.
